After a tough 9-2 setback on February 12, Cosumnes River College responded with resilience and fire, storming back for an 11-10 extra-inning thriller over Merced College on February 13.
In the opener on the road, the Hawks showed flashes of promise despite the final score. Jaylen Dawson paced the offense with a perfect 4-for-4 day, while Kenyon Sanders added two hits and an RBI. Cosumnes River battled back to tie the game 2-2 midway through before a few big swings by Merced created separation that didn't reflect how competitive the contest felt early on.

Trailing 8-4 in the fifth inning, the Hawks erupted for a five-run rally fueled by clutch hitting from Dawson, Henry Ramsey (two-run double), and Brent Martin (two-run single).
