Even with getting base runners on every inning the Hawks were unable to score till the bottom of the 5th when Hannah Flynn doubled to lead off the inning and is moved to third on a Ashleigh Berg sacrifice bunt. Cassandra Thomas drives the ball to right field giving the Hawks their first run of the game. Following it up Korina Krueg takes advantage of an error and scores Thomas giving the Hawks the 2-0 lead.
Looking to extend the lead Taelor Ford legs out a single to short stop. Coming in as a pinch runner Kylee Boykin advances to third on a Cecilia Rivera single. With 1 out Ashleigh Berg lays down the perfect squeeze bunt scoring Kylee Boykin. Hawks lead it 3-0.
