Hawks Unable to Overcome Early Deficit on the Road Against #12 Butte

Cosumnes River College faced a tough challenge Wednesday night, taking on nationally ranked No. 12 Butte in a hostile road environment, and the Hawks responded with resilience and flashes of growth despite the final score. After a difficult opening quarter, CRC steadily found its footing and competed the rest of the way against one of the top programs in the region.

Charisse Echano led the Hawks with a strong offensive effort, pouring in 17 points while attacking the basket and shouldering the scoring load for much of the night. Cosumnes River showed improved composure as the game progressed, matching Butte point-for-point in the third quarter and finishing the fourth with its most productive offensive stretch.

Defensively, the Hawks battled inside and forced turnovers, recording 10 steals while continuing to compete on the glass against a deeper, more experienced Butte squad.
