Cosumnes River College delivered an explosive offensive performance in the opener of its February 12 doubleheader, rolling to an emphatic 8–3 victory over San Jose City College. The Hawks pounded out 14 hits and launched three home runs, taking control early and never relinquishing it.
Emma Misasi led the charge with two home runs and three RBIs, while Emily Azemar added a homer of her own as part of a three-hit day. Faith Hahn contributed two RBIs, and the lineup's depth was on full display with production up and down the order. In the circle, Xochitl Atayde went the distance, striking out nine and limiting the damage after a brief fifth-inning push from San Jose City. Cosumnes answered immediately with a four-run sixth to put the game out of reach.
