Mafnas Takes Silver in 100 Free as CRC Men Post 142.5 Points at Meet
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Cosumnes River College men's swim team delivered a strong showing in their latest competition, totaling 142.5 points behind several standout individual performances.
Leading the way for the Hawks was Jonah Mafnas, who earned a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with an impressive time of 49.27. Mafnas also contributed across multiple events, including a sixth-place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke (30.45) and a solid performance in the 100-yard IM (1:03.70), showcasing his versatility in the pool.
James Pitcock turned in a consistent all-around effort, placing fifth in the 100-yard freestyle (51.28) while adding a seventh-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly (26.53). He also contributed in the 100-yard IM (1:03.07) and 50-yard backstroke (29.05), finishing inside the top 10 in multiple events to anchor the Hawks' scoring.
Additional contributions came from Ahmad Rahim, Alexander Lal, and Pavel Perzhu, who each added depth and valuable points to the team's overall performance.
As a team, Cosumnes River recorded six personal-best swims, reflecting continued progress and development as the season advances.
The Hawks will look to build on this momentum in their next meet as they continue to push for strong finishes and personal improvements across the board.
