Cosumnes River College didn't fold when tested, battling back with grit and energy before falling 68–54 to No. 5 Santa Rosa. After a slow start, the Hawks flipped the script after halftime, showing exactly why they're a tough out at home.
Kainoa Marasco led the charge with 17 points, while Aaron Gillyard stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points and three steals, igniting the Hawks' defensive intensity. Cosumnes River cut into the deficit with improved ball movement and tougher on-ball pressure, holding Santa Rosa to under 35% shooting in the second half.
Though the early hole proved too much to overcome, the Hawks' resilience stood out against one of the state's top teams.
