Cosumnes River College went toe-to-toe with No. 21 College of the Sequoias on Saturday night, coming up just short in a hard-fought 70–67 decision but proving it can compete with one of the state's top programs. Mason Marsh led CRC with a game-high 23 points and four steals, while Jake Williams added 14 points and knocked down four three-pointers to keep the pressure on throughout. Cosumnes River's defense forced 14 turnovers and held Sequoias to just 32 points in the second half, giving the Hawks multiple chances to flip the outcome late.
