Collin Pregliasco serves as the Dean of Kinesiology, Health & Athletics and Athletic Director at Cosumnes River College (CRC), where he has spent the past decade building a premier community college athletic department centered on academic excellence, competitive success, innovation, and an exceptional student-athlete experience. With more than 20 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics, including 18 years within the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A), Pregliasco has built a career focused on developing people, creating opportunities, and bringing individuals together around a shared vision for success.

As Dean, Pregliasco provides strategic leadership for CRC’s Kinesiology, Health & Athletics area, overseeing 10 intercollegiate athletic programs as well as the college’s Kinesiology, Health, and Athletics academic programs. He provides leadership for curriculum, faculty, scheduling, budgeting, personnel, and academic planning while overseeing degree pathways in Kinesiology and Sports Management. Through this integrated leadership model, he works to align academics and athletics to strengthen student success and enhance the overall college experience.

Under Pregliasco’s leadership, CRC Athletics has experienced significant growth academically, competitively, and operationally. The department has achieved 12 consecutive semesters with a cumulative GPA above 3.00, including department-record GPAs of 3.401 in Fall 2025 and 3.344 in Spring 2026. According to Data Vista for the 2024–2025 academic year, CRC student-athletes earned the second-highest cumulative GPA in the Big 8 Conference (3.22) and demonstrated the largest academic improvement compared to the general student population at their institution. CRC student-athletes posted a 3.22 GPA compared to a 2.81 GPA for full-time CRC students, highlighting the impact of the department’s commitment to academic support, accountability, and student development.

Pregliasco has focused on creating systems that support student-athlete success both inside and outside the classroom, including student-athlete enrollment workshops, online progress reporting, early alert and intervention initiatives, and enhanced academic support processes.

Committed to making CRC a first-choice destination—not a fallback option—for prospective student-athletes, Pregliasco has led efforts to elevate every aspect of the student-athlete experience. This includes investments in coaching, staffing, facilities, branding, resources, and support services designed to provide an experience that competes with larger institutions.

During his tenure, CRC Athletics secured funding and institutional support for the $1.6 million CRC Beach Volleyball Complex, which opened in 2024, expanded livestreaming to all home athletic contests, and added new intercollegiate opportunities through the creation of Men’s Swimming and Beach Volleyball programs.

Pregliasco has also led a comprehensive transformation of CRC Athletics’ identity and presentation through a department-wide branding initiative, establishing consistent standards for logos, colors, and visual identity while enhancing facilities and game-day environments. These efforts included facility improvements, updated athletic spaces, and investments designed to create a more unified and professional experience for student-athletes, fans, and recruits.

Recognizing that great programs are built through great people, Pregliasco has prioritized strategic hiring and organizational development to strengthen CRC Athletics. Under his leadership, the department has expanded support through key coaching, administrative, academic, and athletic training positions, including the addition of a third Athletic Trainer beginning in Fall 2026 and the creation of an innovative Athletic Coordinator position focused on sports information, game-day experience, and collaboration with academic programs to provide meaningful experiential learning opportunities for students.

Despite being one of the smallest athletic departments in the highly competitive Big 8 Conference, CRC Athletics continues to compete among the strongest community college athletic programs in California. During the 2025–2026 academic year, eight of CRC’s ten varsity sports qualified for postseason competition, highlighted by Softball advancing to the 3C2A State Championship Tournament—the fourth CRC program in three years to compete for a state championship.

Pregliasco’s leadership and contributions to collegiate athletics were nationally recognized when he was named the 2021–2022 NACDA Athletic Director of the Year. The honor reflected the collective work of CRC coaches, staff, and student-athletes in building a culture of excellence, particularly during the challenges of returning to competition following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beyond CRC, Pregliasco has been an active leader within the Big 8 Conference and 3C2A. He is currently serving his second term as President of the Big 8 Conference, serves as Chair of the Big 8 Constitution Committee, and previously served on the Big 8 Executive Board from 2019–2022 and again beginning in 2026. At the statewide level, he serves on the 3C2A Legislative Working Group (LWG) as part of the Association’s 2026–2028 Governance Modernization Initiative, helping review and strengthen the Association’s Constitution, Bylaws, and governance framework.

In addition to his athletic leadership, Pregliasco has contributed to broader institutional initiatives within the Los Rios Community College District, including representing management during district-wide faculty negotiations in 2017 and 2026. His involvement reflects a commitment to collaborative leadership, shared problem-solving, and strengthening the institution as a whole.

Prior to joining CRC, Pregliasco served as the Associate Athletic Director of Administration and Communications at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he oversaw the administration of 15 intercollegiate programs and responsibilities including NCAA compliance, sports information, communications, marketing, development, and athletic administration.

Before UC Santa Cruz, Pregliasco spent eight years at Foothill College in Los Altos, California, serving as Assistant Athletic Director, Head Softball Coach, and Kinesiology Instructor. During his tenure, Foothill achieved the highest winning percentage in program history (.676), while his student-athletes earned 32 Scholar-Athlete recognitions and 37 All-Coast Conference selections. He also contributed to the development of Foothill College’s $2.5 million softball and soccer complex, recognized as the 2011 American Sports Builders Association National Facility of the Year.

Pregliasco began his coaching career at Prospect High School in Saratoga, California, where he coached softball, girls’ soccer, and field hockey before transitioning into community college athletics.

He holds a Master of Science in Sports Management from American Public University and both a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Child and Adolescent Development from San José State University.

Pregliasco believes lasting success comes from aligning people around a shared vision, building sustainable systems, and creating an environment where student-athletes and employees can thrive. His vision remains clear: to continue positioning Cosumnes River College Athletics as a first-choice destination—not a fallback option—by providing an experience that rivals or exceeds what student-athletes will find at the next level.

He and his wife, Jamie, an elementary school teacher, live in Folsom with their two children, Chase and Peyton.
