Coach Scott Haynes has been named the Big 8 Conference Assistant Coach of the Year, recognizing his leadership and impact in guiding the Hawks through the most challenging season in the state.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Cosumnes River College Athletics is proud to announce that assistant baseball coach Scott Haynes has been named the Big 8 Conference Assistant Coach of the Year, recognizing his outstanding leadership, dedication, and impact on the Hawks program.
Over the past year and a half, Haynes has played a pivotal role in guiding the Hawks through a challenging stretch, stepping up to help lead the program during the absence of head coach Don Mico, who has been sidelined due to injury. His steady presence and commitment have been instrumental in maintaining the program's high standard of excellence.
Under Scott Haynes's leadership this season, the Hawks navigated through the toughest schedule in the state, with 35 of 38 matches coming against playoff-caliber opponents. They finished with the No. 1 strength of schedule ranking in California and battled their way into the postseason, a reflection of the team's resilience, preparation, and ability to compete at a high level every game.
"Coach Haynes has been a huge part of our CRC Baseball Program. He is the glue to our TEAM!!!" said Mico.
Haynes' influence extends far beyond game strategy, as he has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field. His ability to foster a culture of accountability, growth, and unity has been a cornerstone of the program's success.
"This honor comes as no surprise to us," said Collin Pregliasco, Director of Athletics. "Scott is a tremendous coach and an even better person. He's a high-level coach who truly cares about developing our student-athletes both on and off the field, and this recognition is a direct reflection of that."
The Big 8 Conference Assistant Coach of the Year honor highlights Haynes' invaluable contributions and dedication to the Hawks baseball program. As the team continues its pursuit of postseason success, his leadership remains a huge driving force behind Cosumnes River College's continued excellence.
