SACRAMENTO (2-23) – The Hawks returned home to finish up their two-game series with Merced College at Conway Field. The Blue Devils won 8-5.
Essex Brown was 1-3 with a walk and scored twice for the Hawks. Burle Dixon was 2-3 and scored once. Greg Creamer had one hit and scored once. Griffin Selby added a hit and Joey Pankratz was walked three times on the day.
The Hawks would throw six different pitchers in the loss. Nic Wilson started for the Hawks. Pankratz, Brenden Murray, Kyle Galart, Owen Hunt and Selby all had time on the mound.
The Hawks will start Big 8 Conference play on Tuesday against Sacramento City College. First pitch is 2 pm at Conway Field.
