Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a group of representatives from all intercollegiate athletic teams at Cosumnes River College. Our mission is to promote athletics, increase awareness for athletic competitions, discuss the student-athlete experience, and improve student-athlete relations. We will also organize and facilitate community outreach throughout the Elk Grove and Sacramento communities.

Meetings will be held during the semster on Monday afternoons with a location on campus to be announced. Meetings will be organized by the SAAC President and their fellow officers. During our open meetings, anyone can attend as we discuss the various topics that are brought up by our student-athletes under the direcion of the SAAC President. In our first meeting of the semester, we will announce the SAAC officers for the year as voted on by the student-athletes and athletic staff. 

This past year our SAAC board helped us plan a variety of events throughout the year. Some highlights include: attending the 3C2A student-athlete leadership conference, organizing a Hawks Night Out movie night, helped organize our End of the Year BBQ, Start up our first Orange Out at softball (Leukemia & Lymphoma Awareness), Partnered with Be the Match to organize a bone marrow registration and blood donation, increased attendance for our athletic events, brainstormed ideas for our initial Hawk Take podcast, discussed potential legislation changes to the 3C2A and providing feedback, as well as addressed a variety of concerns and ideas to increase the student-athlete experience here at Cosumnes River College.
