Hawks Stake Win over Claim Jumpers

SACRAMENTO (9-2) -  Cosumnes River played their second match of the day as they took on Columbia College at Clark Court. The Hawks came away with a 3-1 victory over the Claim Jumpers

The Hawks won their last match 3-1 over College of Marin earlier today.

The first set was controlled by the Hawks as the Hawks had twelve kills in the set. The Hawks won the first set 25-17 and took a 1-0 lead in the match. In the second set, the Hawks would lead from the beginning again and would commit threes error in the set. The Hawks won the second set 25-14 and took a 2-0 lead in the match. In the third set, the Hawks would have a negative hitting percentage (-.088) and the Claim Jumpers would capitalize. The Claim Jumpers won the set 25-20 and cut the Hawks’ lead to 2-1. In the fourth set, the Hawks would have seven kills in the set and would win the set 25-14 and won the match 3-1. The win marked the Hawks’ fourth in a row.  

Rebakkah McLaughlin had nine kills and fifteen assists and Justine Busse had ten digs for the Hawks.

The Hawks will have their next match on Wednesday as they take on Chabot College in Hayward
