Swimmers continue to improve!

Swimmers continue to improve!

It is probably true that no team has set or broken and lowered more school records than this years swim team here at CRC. Of the records that are kept, 14 of the 17 school records have been reset, or lowered this year as diligent practice, and better coaching have continued to allow the Hawks water wings to grow as they improve and the Big 8 Invite was no exception.

Liz Padilla blasted the previous school record in the 500-meter freestyle of 9:30 by more than a full minute with a time of 8:29.43. Natasha Supan continued her strong season setting new records in the 100 Backstroke and the 200 as well with her times of 1:20.67, and 2:58.09min those two events. The 50-meter Freestyle is one place she also stood out as she lowered her school records twice in the weekend from 28.65, to 27.70, almost a full second!

Yes it's a young team with plenty of room to grow and with the direction the Hawks are going, it will not be long until the name CRC will be have to be reckoned with in swimming circles.

The next meet for the Hawks is on Saturday April 2nd at Chabot College for the "Chabot Last Chance Invite" where the Hawks will snatch glory from the deep end!
