The Hawks took on the Mustangs looking for an upset that would have sent the team home for the season with a positive piece of momentum for next year but it was not to be as Delta College showed just why they are so tough.
Anytime a team finds itself out shot from beyond the arc, with less steals, and more turnovers it's hard to grab a victory. When the opposing team has 19 more field goals it's impossible, but the Hawks never gave up against Delta.
The Hawks were led by Daija Ward's 14 points and 8 rebounds. Ward was the only Hawk in double figures on the night. Akila Britton had 8 points and 6 boards while Nayani Gordon and Jasmine Chapman each added 7 points. Trina Shaner had 6 points and Gina Ingravallo and QuoQuese Jackson each chipped in with 5 points with Jackson adding 5 boards as well.
The Hawks finished 6-21 overall and will look to rebuild next year as they will graduate 7 of their 10 sophomore players.
