The Hawks took it on the chin against Santa Rosa 67-49 in Big 8 action on Friday to even their conference record at 1-1.

The Hawks trailed by just five points at the half but Santa Rosa held CRC to just 11 points in the third outscoring the Hawks by nine to take a 46-35 lead after three periods and cruised into the win from there.

The Hawks were led by Gina Ingravallo's 13 points with Nayani Gordon being the only other Hawk in double figures with 10. Daija Ward had nine points and five rebounds for the Hawks with Jasmine Chapman adding six points and four assists to lead the Hawks in assists. 

QuoQuese Jackson followed with five points and was the team leader with seven rebounds and grabbed six steals off the bench.

With the loss the Hawks drop to 1-1 in the Big 8 conference and are now 5-10 overall.

Next up for the Hawks is a Tuesday night road game at Sac City at 7:30pm.
