Raiders stop the Hawks 62-59.

The Hawks had three players in double figures but it wasn't quite enough as the Raiders clamped down on the Hawks holding them to 8 points in the third quarter and outscoring them by 11 to take a lead they wouldn't give up.

The Hawks were led by Daija Ward who had 14 points and 5 rebounds on the night.

Gina Ingravallo followed Ward with 13 points of her own. Ingravallo also dished out 6 assists and reached in for three steals in the game.

Nayani Gordon added 10 points for the Hawks and just like Ward was very effecient shooting from the field as the two Hawks were 10-15 from the field with five baskets each.

QuoQuese Jackson led the rebounding efforts by the Hawks with 8 on the evening while Akila Britton added 7 to go with her 6 points.

The Hawks out rebounded the Raiders 35-33 and while both teams had 25 turnovers, Moorpark had 13 steals in the game.

The Hawks drop to 2-3 on the year and next up for the Hawks is San Diego Mesa College (1-6) in a 2 pm game. SD-Mesa lost to West Hills-Lemoore 54-45 in their opener in the tournament.
