Hawks Split With San Joaquin Delta

The Hawks battled San Joaquin Delta in a slugfest double header Saturday at CRC Stadium and came away with one victory to go 2-2 in conference play.

The Hawks jumped on Delta early in game 1 putting up 8 runs in the first 3 innings. Then, The Hawks had to battle Delta to the end and take the win 11-6.

Courtney Beatty, Miranda Rodriguez, Baylee Hirtel, Chelsea Martinez, Veronica Smith, Alexus Acosta each had multiple hits in the game and Martinez picked up multiple RBIs. Brittany Baroni picked up the win for The Hawks going 5 1/3 innings giving up 11 hits and striking out 7. Ashleigh Berg threw 1 2/3 and picked up her first save of the season. 

In game 2, The Hawks jumped on Delta in the 1st inning but were unable to win the battle and came out with a 7-5 loss. Miranda Rodriguez, Alexus Acosta, and Taelor Ford each had multiple hits in the game. Ashleigh Berg picked up the loss going 5 1/3 innings giving up 10 hits and striking out 1. Chelsea Martinez pitched 1 2/3 innings and gave up 1 hit.

On the day, Miranda Rodriguez hit .500 and Alexus Acosta hit .666.

The Hawks will return to CRC Staduim on Tuesday in another conference game against the new member of the conference Folsom Lake. The game is scheduled to start at 3:00 pm. Fans can follow along on GameChanger.
