The Giants jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before the Hawks settled down and put their scoring machine into gear.
Ethan Krebs scored first on an unassisted goal to cut the lead to 2-1. Krebs score was his first in conference play and the second overall this year. Shortly after that, Antonio Almaraz scored to tie the match up at 2 with an assist from Krebs. Almaraz's goal was his second on the year and his first in conference play.
The Game winner came from Cameron Peuse also his second of the year and the first in Big 8 play for him as well. Another assist from Krebs helped seal the win. Krebs two assists gave him 3 on the year and 2 in Big 8 action.
With American River's loss yesterday the Hawks are in third place in the conference and 6-6-1 overall.
Next up for the Hawks is a road trip to Fresno on Friday the 14th to play Clovis at 4pm.
