SACRAMENTO, Calif.- Following a stretch where the Cosumnes River men's soccer team went undefeated for six straight matches, the Hawks have struggled as of late, dropping two straight matches on the road. CRC returns home today looking for a return to their winning ways, as they play host to the Mustangs of Delta College.
Following a strong 2013 Big 8 debut, and a stretch against Central Valley conference teams that saw the Hawks go 3-0-1, CRC has gone 0-2 since returning to conference play. However, both losses came on the road, and were competitive from beginning to end. They were also against the top two teams in conference, making it a tall order for a young Hawks team struggling with consistent play of late.
The Hawks will look to rebound this afternoon against the Mustangs of Delta College. CRC defeated the Mustangs earlier this season on a goal in extra time, taking the match 3-2 on the road in Stockton. Delta played well in their last match, playing Modesto JC to a 3-3 draw, and will look to avenge their earlier loss to the Hawks and play CRC to a season series split.
Today's match is scheduled for 3 PM, and will be played on the North fields. Tickets are available for $6 for general admission, $4 for seniors, and $2 for children. Admission is always free for CRC students, staff and faculty. Concessions will be available to purchase at the event. Parking permits are available at designated kiosks in the parking lots.
